Artist Statement

I create three-dimensional sculptures to challenge my ability to shape steel into all types of images and to demonstrate malleability of something as hard as steel. I like to combine different mediums of steel and heat to schieve various colors without the use of paint.

I want the viewer to be drawn to the color and texture of my sculptures and to be pulled in close to try and figure our what my sculptures are made out of and how I made them.  I feel that hand-welding my sculptures instead of casting them gives me more freedom to obtain the color and texture they need to look unique.
